Keeping it Reel

Columbia College Hollywood Students Turn Up the Volume

Sennheiser is a leader in the microphone and high fidelity product industry. Founded in 1945 by Fritz Sennheiser, the manufacturer has been an industry leader with their trend setting and innovative products for decades.

Former Columbia College Hollywood Instructor and current Sennheiser Representative, Gussie Miller approached us in early January to have our students film an RF wireless workshop they conducted with at Schubert Systems in North Hollywood. The two-day documentary-style shoot focused on the workshop between Sennheiser Sound Academy and that showcased the awesome quality and ease of use of the Sennheiser wireless RF mics and boards.

CCH students, Noah Maxey and Jon Odate worked various aspects of the shoot, from the cinematography to the editing of the sound and footage. This was an amazing opportunity for our students to put their training and creativity to the test producing the project. Participants were able to gain hands on experience with the newest Sennheiser technology with the help of Gussie Miller’s band performing some tunes.

Columbia College Hollywood encourages students to utilize their training and skills in the field as much as possible. By taking opportunities like these, students are able to test their abilities and grow as professionals as well as individuals.

This blog is a collaborative effort by CCH staff and administration who want to share their knowledge with the film school community and prospective students.
