Recent Columbia College Hollywood graduate and full-fledged filmmaker, Rachel Leyco is taking the film festival circuit by storm with her socially-relevant short, Bicultural. Bicultural is a short film about a young Filipino-American woman who is struggling to assert her identity as a lesbian. Torn between her family’s strong traditions and living life on her terms, her worlds begin to collide; making her journey all the more challenging.

Rachel wrote and starred as the lead character and co-produced and co-directed the project with current CCH student, TC Smith. The short was inspired and based on a TV show. She is an accomplished actor in TV, Film, Commercial and Print work. Her heart is in the storytelling. By sharing her voice and vision with the masses, it allows her to convey her message of unity and preservation of tradition, while still celebrating diversity.
