How to Apply
Admissions Requirements
1. Complete an Online Application
California College of ASU offers you two ways to apply for admission: via the California College of ASU Online Application or via the California College of ASU Common App webpage.
2. Pay a one-time $50 Application Fee
3. Provide Your Official High School Transcripts and Official Transcripts from Prior Colleges and Universities
Official transcripts must show a GPA of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.

If you have a GED certification, you are responsible for providing your GED results directly to California College of ASU. If you attended a school outside of the U.S., you must contact your school to have your official transcripts sent directly to California College of ASU. All transcripts must have an official English translation.
4. Write and Submit your Personal Essay
Your Personal Essay is an important part of our admissions decision process. Submit a personal essay of no less than 500 words. Please answer all of the following questions:
- Tell us about your interest in the areas of cinema arts, entertainment, or creative media.
- What area of the entertainment arts or creative media most excites you?
- Why are you interested in pursuing your degree at California College of ASU?
- What are your creative, artistic, and/or professional aspirations?
Be sure to give your essay serious thought, and please take special care regarding grammar and spelling.
5. OPTIONAL: Provide Two Letters of Recommendation
Letters of Recommendation can be submitted by a teacher, counselor, school principal, or other professional who has firsthand knowledge of your interest in the arts.
Recommendations should address your potential as a student at California College of ASU, your level of commitment, and your personal attributes, such as creativity, motivation, character, and academic achievement.
Recommendations may not come from friends or family members.

6. Schedule Your Admissions Interview
If you haven’t had your interview already, this is your chance to meet your Admissions Counselor, either in-person or via Skype or Google Hangout. Your Admissions Interview is a great opportunity to express what makes you unique.
Standardized Test & AP Scores
Although we don’t require SAT, ACT, IB, or AP scores for admission, there are advantages to submitting your scores prior to your start date. If you present AP and/or IB Standard Level (SL) and/or Higher Level (HL) scores of 3 or better, you will be granted college credit.

Portfolio & Sample Reels
We don’t require a portfolio or sample reel of your work with your application, but if you wish to send us a link or DVD, we will gladly review it. Please note that we cannot return any materials or supporting documentation you send with your application.
